SDS and "Fugitive Days"

Former Weather Underground leader Bill Ayers discusses his recent memoir "Fugitive Days" (Beacon Press 2001) which recounts his part in the campaign of domestic bombings in the early 1970s to protest the American War in Vietnam.

To provide background, Bill's remarks about his "Fugitive Days" will be preceded by a screening of Helen Garvey's recent acclaimed feature-length documentary on the 1960s Students for a Democratic Society, "Rebels With a Cause."

Ayers is Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Other SDS-era veterans may be present to participate in the discussion.
