
The Chicago Coalition Against War and Racism called for a rally and march against the occupation of Iraq. The rally began August 23rd at noon, at the Federal Plaza at Adams & Dearborn, the starting point for the two major rallies on March 20th & March 21st, which resulted in protestors taking over Lake Shore Drive and police allegedly engaging in widespread misconduct. The event highlighted ongoing
issues pertaining to occupation, including administration lies regarding Iraqi weapons, industry ties to Bush officials, the budgetary drain of war, and the exploitation of minority youth as soldiers.
