Housing: Juneteenth rally defends the rights of communities to remain

On Juneteenth, June 19, 250 public housing residents and supporters gathered at the Ida B. Wells homes to celebrate the strength of community and rally against the displacement CHA's redevelopment plan is having on people. Participants built an example of the future of public housing if the city is allowed to continue its plan of demolition without first replacing the housing stock that has been lost. The tents and cardboard shanties were constructed while people enjoyed food, music and speakers. Read More
