On February 19, Chicago housing activists descended on the CHA Board of Commissioners meeting to demand answers. In the gym of the Major Adams Youth Academy on the grounds of the Henry Horner Homes, the table for the board members was roped off from the rest of the area. Tables and chairs are stacked up along the edges where the ropes don't reach. Two uniformed Chicago Police officers stand in the corner, behind the stacked tables. Eight more mill around the back of the gym. The board members settle into place knowing they are protected from public participation. Full Story
