Shep was the name given to a herding dog that appeared at the Great Northern Railway station one day in 1936 in Fort Benton, Montana, and watched as his deceased human's casket was loaded onto the train and left. The dog remained at the station, waiting for his human to return for the next five and a half years, until he was killed by an incoming train in 1942. Wikipedia

In 2017 a mixed breed dog followed his human to the bus stop in the village of Vlahinja, near Kursumlija in Serbia. His owner went to hospital in Belgrade but, never come back. His owner passed away in the Belgrade hospital but, his dog is still waiting for him in the same place .

A bear was transported and taken 125 miles away from Traverse City Michigan. He or she made an amazing 125-mile journey across Michigan — straight back to the city where he was trapped a month earlier. The bear after his heroic journey was killed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources
