StreetWise management continues to blatantly disregard labor law and workers rights, in firing one employee and cutting the hours of almost the entire staff involved in a unionizing effort with the Chicago Newspaper Guild.

Jose Ramirez Lozano, head of the Colombian oil workers union, attended the inaugural conference for a national anti-Plan Colombia network based in Chicago.

The Teamsters and Carpenters unions are fighting for union recognition at Seigle's Home and Building Center in Pilsen. The company employs mostly Latino immigrants and day labor, paying about $10 an hour below union scale for the work they do.
