American blacks are not the only ones to have experienced this humiliation and oppression. Their dark skinned brothers globally have been subjected to everything from slavery to humiliation, ridicule, and have been deprived of opportunities that have been made available to their comparatively fair skinned brothers. Brothers in other countries may not have been subject to slavery as in the US, but in other countries they have been subjected to oppression that is in many ways as humiliating and demeaning as being a slave in America.
In India, as recently as 2002, 5 Dalits, the Indian Blacks, were lynched in Hariyana, a backward Indian state. See the 2nd URL below.

Cindy Sheehan is back in Washington, D.C. She appeared at a Forum, on Jan. 30, 2006, proposing the impeachment of both President George W. Bush and his vice-president-in-mayhem, Dick Cheney. Sheehan believes Bush’s election in 2000, by the Supreme Court was illegitimate and that his abrogating to himself Congress’s war making powers to invade Iraq was unconstitutional. Congress won’t do anything, Sheehan said, “unless we make them” do it.

The cowardly and calculating decision by 19 Democrats who voted to block a filibuster against the Alito Supreme Court appointment (and by Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, who didn’t vote) was a betrayal of liberal principles that should be rewarded by primary challenges for all those facing election in ’06.
