Think Galactic is a reading and discussion group that rose out of three anarchists from Chicago's experiences with Wiscon, the world's leading feminist science fiction convention. They sought to find a way to bring intense, thoughtful, and earnest discussion of speculative fiction and politics into their regular lives. Starting with an initial discussion of Samuel Delaney's "Aye and Gomorrah", they recruited like-minded friends and a reading list of interesting titles was compiled. Flyering and other networks added a variety of other individuals to the mix and the group has been going since then.
Every month the group gathers at Myopic Books in Chicago, with a typical turnout being 4-6 people. We are now in our fifth year of discussions.
