just a cotton picking minute, the original post said nothing about "the situation in kosovo" except that it is complicated. it pretends nothing about the situation there, it is strictly about the racism of the organizers and participants of the rally.

I'm not serbian, but I will be there standing against the 'independence' of Kosovo. I don't see anything racsist in the call out for this rally. Nor do you provide any proof to back up your claims that the organizers are racsist. To low-ball a little, this seems a post an FBI agent would post. So if you're not in the FBI, you're missing out on a good pension.

The protest is about U.S. intervention in the balkans and the illegal "independence" of Kosovo because Serbia is a sovereign state protected under UN law. The serbs are not racists. In fact, 200,000 Serbs had to flee Kosovo b/c of the KLA after NATO came in and no one in the west cared that the Serbs were being ethnically cleansed. You apperently don't know anything about the situation.

People are absolutely correct to protest against Kosovo's independence - hopefully for the correct reasons. How do we know what the motivations of the organizers are? And if the motivations are suspect how do we know if that's the message that they will be sending? The crowd might be against both independence in this case and ethnic and religious intolerance, we just don't know given the limited text of the call that was reposted here. If the organizers are doing this for the wrong reasons but promote the correct ones then I don't have a problem with it. Again, how do we know?

Then there's the hypocrisy of it it all. If Kosovo's "independence" is to be supported, why not Kurdistan's? Why not Palestine's?

I don't think 'racist' is the best term here. Old fashioned nationalism, of the narrow variety, combined with religious bigotry, is more on target , and it has been a problem among these people since before everyone here was born. You can attribute it to this plot or that plot, but those are all secondary.

This is more like Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland, which lasted hundreds of years, except that it's even a deeper divide.

This is a fine example of the lies and disgusting press that has permeated the Western airwaves regarding the theft of Kosovo. Serbia, an ally of the US in two World Wars and rescuer of 500 American Airmen in WWII is now depicted as a villainous entity- maybe this reflects the position of the author and the crooked media that prints such garbage and feeds it to an unsuspecting and uninformed American public. A soveriegn nation was raped and thrown into chaos by a Western empire and media that want control of the Balkans and the ignorant Albanians think they have achieved something? Wait until payback time. what will the west demand from them? we will see.

There's no chauvinism from the Serbs. You see, it's not their fault they're beset by a bunch of 'ignorant Albanians.'
