Several hundred people gathered at Catfish Corner on Chicago's West Side Thursday night to protest the police killing of Aaron Harrison. Harrison was shot in the back. Multiple witnesses say police planted a drop gun on him.

LaShaundra Harrison, aunt of 18-year-old Aaron Harrison, was the family's spokeswoman for the evening.

The organizers of the rally strongly advocated packing the next meeting of the City Council's Committee on Police and Fire: 10 AM, Tuesday, August 28th at 121 N. LaSalle Street, in the City Council Chambers on the 2nd floor. Attendees are urged to be in front of the building no later than 9:30 AM Sharp.

Others advocated attending next Thursday's meeting of the Police Board, the toothless rubber stamp committee of Daley appointees that has a minor part in the byzantine and ultimately useless process of "disciplining" violent police officers. The Police Board meeting is at 7:30 PM, Thursday, August 16 at police headquarters, 3510 S. Michigan Avenue. If you would like to speak during the public comment portion at the end of the meeting, you must call 312.742.4194, the earlier the better.

Rev. Paul Jakes, Jr., President of the Christian Council on Urban Affairs, opened the rally.

Queen Sister, a long time advocate for families of the wrongfully convicted, just after she addressed the crowd.

Along with LaShaundra Harrison, Rev. Al Sharpton was one of the rally's keynote speakers.

The extended family of Aaron Harrison gathered on stage, along with the rally's emcee, WVON-AM's Coz Carson.

"Do not turn in your gun," the advice from a family member of Aaron Harrison. The mayor has led several gun turn in's in Chicago's poorer neighborhoods. Multiple witnesses said they saw police plant a gun on Aaron's body, who was shot in the back.
