Activist Aaron Patterson Faces Sentencing This Friday
PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY
Former Jon Burge torture victim and death row inmate Aaron Patterson faces sentencing at 9:30 AM this Friday, July 19 in Federal Court, 219 S. Dearborn, Room 2119.
He asks all of his supporters to be there.
An activist while he was on death row, Aaron "walked the walk" in the brief time he was out of prison, supporting peace and justice activists on a range of issues, and launching his own initiatives as well.
Please make the time to be there in his support this Friday. The link below itself has several links concerning the history of Aaron's case and his actvism in Chicago.

We have had many honest and frank heart-to-heart conversations over the years. On everything from race, class, drugs, women, family, you name it. Whatever brothers talk about, we've talked about it.
In our discussions about drugs I have NEVER heard anything from Aaron that would give me the idea that he was pro-drugs. In fact, he used to talk about shutting the head houses down in his neighborhood. He wanted to either raze them and rebuild, or renovate them for neighborhood investment projects.
He even spoke with local law enforcement to see about what he could do to expedite that process.
The fact that I was not called by anyone to come testify on Aaron's behalf is not surprising, considering the hidden agenda, pattern of ineptitude and the slowness of uptake by certain organizing elements in that sheep town.
All this could have been avoided if people would have listened to Aaron while he was still in jail the first time, and focused on the States Atty's Office, instead of trying to work with people who'd rather cut a deal with Devine, and then leave him out their to set up another frame on Aaron, and continue the torturous abuse on Aaron and his extended family.
Chicago.. you are slow and stupid. There is no other way to describe it.
