The night before the Matthew Shepard March & Rally, the Gay Liberation Network (GLN) hosted a reception with Sam Kosha of the Persian Gay & Lesbian Organization (PGLO), a group dedicated to winning acceptance and legal equality for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people in Iran.

Here is Sam and the crowd gathered at Chicago's gay and lesbian library, Gerber Hart Library. The reception raised over $600 to benefit PGLO.

Sam was presented with two books by Ifti Nasim (second from left), the first published gay poet in the Urdu language in neighboring Pakistan. Nasim is the founder of Sangat, a South Asian LGBT organization in Chicago.
