On Thursday, October 5, Chicago Indymedia will premier two new documentaries on Iraq and Argentina -- plus independent shorts from around the country and the world.
"My Country, My Country" -- documents the life and struggles of an Iraqi doctor in the months before the 2005 Iraqi elections, and has been acclaimed by the Village Voice as "easily the most valuable piece of film to emerge about the war in all of its three-plus years."
"i": the film -- a new documentary about Argentina Indymedia -- presents the work of grassroots journalists in Buenos Aires who follow, report, and live through the massive political and economic upheavals in Argentina in late 2001.
Plus, the evening will include short films from Chicago Indymedia's acclaimed monthly TV series, 'Chicago Independent Television' and a collection of incendiary documentary, satirical and political shorts from around the world.
The event will also feature snacks, beverages, and informational tabling by an array of local activist projects. If your group would like to table or you'd like more info, call us at 312-446-4939.
