March 10 movement: Elvira Arellano needs your support
From the March 10th Movement:

Adalberto Memorial United Methodist Church
2716 W. Division St., Chicago, IL
Living inside a church does not offer her protection from arrest and deportation, according to federal officials, who declared her a fugitive.
"There's nothing that prevents us from arresting anyone who has an outstanding deportation order anywhere in the United States," said Tim Counts, a spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
"We will apprehend her at a time and place of our choosing," Counts said.
Her supporters are comparing her to civil rights activist Rosa Parks.
"Elvira is not going to go to the back of the bus so somebody else can sit there while they treat her differently," said Ema Lozano of Center Without Borders. "Elvira is here, she works hard, her kid is a U.S. citizen, they allowed her to come into the country."

How to lend support...

Elvira Arellano, president of United Latino Families, took refuge in a church today rather than be deported. (article from Chicago Tribune below) The March 10th Movement is asking everyone to call the offices of Senators Obama and Durbin and urge them to submit a private bill that will halt the deportation proceedings against her. This has been done for several years but they have failed to submit the bill this year. Here is the action request from the Movimiento:
