Updated Animal Rights Schedule for BIO 2006

BIO 2006 (www.bio2006.org) is only a few days away, its time to get geared up for what will be a busy week of action against the convention. This year the BIO convention as said that they are going to be highlighting animal based biotech at the convention. Issues such as genetically modifying animals, animal cloning and other such issues will be discussed as well as specific workshops aimed at dealing with the threat posed to biotech by animal rights activists. While they highlight how better to torture animals inside, lets make sure we remind them who they are up against in the streets!

Below is the schedule of events that will be taking place to counter the BIO 2006 convention in Chicago from April 8th through April 12th. We are going to be in the streets nearly every day these murders are in our city! This conference will be attended by all of HLS' largest customers (www.insidehls.com) as well as many other companies who contribute to the murder of millions of animals a year. This conference will feature the who's who of the biotech industry right here in Chicago. Please do everything you can to attend. These events will be some of the most important this year and are not to be missed!!!

Let's send them home with a clear message that we will never forget the
animals nor will we forgive their industry for murdering them.

Schedule of non-protest events:
As if that wasn't enough for you, there will also be a few educational events/outreach events taking place over the weekend.

Saturday, April 8th from 2:00 to 5:00
Anti-Biotech festival in Federal Plaza (Adams & Dearborn)
Come stop by the animal rights table and take in some festivities at the Reclaim The Commons anti-bio festival. We will be serving free vegan ice cream cones from Chicago Soy Dairy (the best vegan ice cream in the world!). Come by for some fun and ice cream. People will be leaving from the festival to go to the protest that night at 6:00pm.

Sunday, April 9th, 3:30pm @ Acme Art Works (1741 N. Western).
Workshop on the medical failure of vivisection and the campaign to close Huntingdon Life Sciences.

Reclaim the Commons will be holding a show at Acme after all the workshops have finished, so stick around for a show with Broadcast Live (Hip Hop from Albany NY), Adhamh Roland of Riot Folk Collective & presentation by the Beehive Collective (beehivecollective.org).

Please do everything you can to make it out to these events, this is a great opportunity to send a powerful message to the people who are directly responsible for the torture of murder of millions of animals a year. Don't let the chance pass you by. Come out and let the BIO convention know that they aren't welcome in Chicago!!!
