I've been checking the open newswire for information on what happened at the CIMC benefit this weekend. I heard two known rapists within the activist community crashed the benefit and when they were asked to leave they started smashing up the place, breaking a table and a railing as well as dislocating the thumb and breaking the glasses of an older activist with disabilities. I also heard from another source that they yelled anti-gay epitaths and issued death threats to activists who have taken a stand on rape within our communities.

I understand Indymedia may not want to "abuse" their power by using this opportunity to bash Seer (aka Patrick) and Safety (aka Corey), the two know rapists, but this is news and I feel like other activists have the right to know. This is an issue of safety. These are violent and unstable individuals, and people who don't know who they are should be warned and people who still hang out with them, enable them and empower them should be shamed.

Any first hand eye-witness accounts of the situation would be greatly appreciated.
