Naper Settlement to Host Kelly Miller Circus, Again

Once again the Naper Settlement in Naperville will host its annual "old-fashioned" circus. The circus is supposed to replicate traveling circuses from the early 1800's. The circus is designed and run by Kelly Miller Circus, notorious for failing to meet minimal federal standards for the care of animals used in exhibition as established in the Animal Welfare Act. Seems circuses haven't come far from the cruelty and torture used in the 1800's.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has cited Kelly Miller Circus for failure to handle animals in a manner that is safe to the animals and the public, failure to provide veterinary records, and failure to provide structurally sound enclosures. Kelly Miller Circus leases animals from its sister circus, Carson & Barnes."

Please join us as we attempt to persuade Naperville to end its association with the Kelly Miller Circus and not invite them back to the Naper Settlement next year. You can help by joining our protests on the weekend of September 23rd, sending letters to the village, and leafleting downtown Naperville events to educate residents on the truth behind the Kelly Miller Circus.

Schedule of Events
