On Sunday, US occupation forces launched a
major ground offensive against the beseiged Iraqi city of Fallujah. -
demolishing one hospital,
seizing another and pummeling neighborhoods throughout the city - in an all out effort to crush the Iraqi resistance. Over 50,000 men, women and children remain trapped in their homes without
food, running water or electricity as
fighting rages across Fallujah. US troops have met fierce resistance from the city's defenders, and over 200 Iraqi troops have reportedly
deserted.
In Chicago, an estimated 180 antiwar protesters gathered in Federal Plaza Monday evening for a hastily called emergency rally and march to protest the attack on Fallujah and the continung occupation of Iraq. [

Veterans Day Protest against the War in Iraq, sponsored by
Vietnam Veterans Against the War will be held at 11 AM, corner of Wabash & Wacker, Chicago.

Re: US Launches Falluja Offensive - Chicago's Anti-War Movement Back in the Streets

We believe that because our society function considerably well under this democratic process that other countries must follow in this path. Truth is, every county is not suited for democracy. Socialism, Communism, Capitalism, Monarchy, all have their pro's to the society they represent. I feel that it is devaluing the very thing that we are trying to instill in the world: peace. Peace is not made in such ways, slaves are.
We must stop this corporate globalization. McDonalds will have to understand that some countries don't enjoy pollution their bodies.
It is a true tragedy to know that within the next hundred years the race of men will fall to a machine that we ourselves have inaugurated as a force of truth. I mean, afterall look what Hitler accomplished with his "moral code". We are no better today than the slave traders of the old world, or the tyrants of the ancients. We are the next to be fall a great humility. Remember: All great empires rise, peak, and fall to ruin.
Oppression is the value we instill in our children and the kneel not to God or truth, but to fear. Welcome to democracy Iraq. I pray that your children forgive us.
Sincerely,
George.
