as portrayed by local media: "a lone man stepped defiantly into the street. Wearing a caterpillar hat and an american flag, he tried to shout above the 350 protesters. finally, during a brief lull, his voice could be heard: "Caterpillar forever!"... [the man] stood fast as some of the protesters began mocking him, calling him names and threatening him."

as i saw it from where i took this picture: the crowd was silent while the parents of Rachel Corrie gave a final statement to CAT CEO james owens... but the silence was broken by his shouts: "Get a life!!" "Commies!" He was clearly talking to the corries. i didn't hear any threats on his life. but you know us protesters. whatever.
