Professor Boyle's actions are to be commended, however I think given your system of government results in self-interested politicians as elected respresentatives, I can't see his attempts succeeding.

I was puzzled by his comment "we are still the oldest republic in the world". To me this is symptomatic of the broad parochialism affecting the USA populace. Most USA citizens seem to think that the USA is the sole source of all things good, and this attitude contributes hugely to the clever propaganda of the elite in leading your nation down the path of totally self-interest greed on a global scale.

So, what about republics like Switzerland (710 years old) and Iceland? Switzerland in particular seems to have a good model for a republic that has worked well for centuries.

We have been trying to spread the word and get everyone here in California on the campaign to impeach. When presenting the petitions to our congress people they say "its just a California thing." We are using the cards to impeach, generated by ANSWER, and the response is overwhelming yet there is no "left" leader who has the bully pulpit who is willing to inspire the crowds,ie Norman Solomon, Richard Becker, etc. How can we reach all the peace groups across the country and inspire a big movement for this?
