A thousand kudos on the cornered rat-George Bush. Let us never forget that the United States government is singlehandedly responsible for the wholesale slaughter of the American Indian. Well over 600 federal treaties have been violated or outright cancelled.

On another note: the real unemployment statistic in this country is about 10%. The economy will never recover like and the media simply spouts government lies.

What the author states is accurate for the most part. The U.S. government is run by pigs on behalf of rich corporate fat cats. There is no real conspiracy, though, really it's a disease of human society. When individuals get together in groups they behave in surreptitious, corrupt ways and build up evil power structures which have emergent properties not found amongst individuals themselves. Thus an "entire nation" has been led down the road of belief that little old Mohammed Atta and is ragtag band of fellow "Muslim fanatics" (but isn't this a conspiracy theory as well?) willfully committed hari kari for an abstract, non-existent political cause. Only insane people could have wanted to carry such a deed out (given the probable consequences) but insane people (or those driven insane unfortunately) could not have worked together so skillfully to pull it off. No, the best explanation was that remote control equipment was installed in the planes to bring about their firey fate.

I would like to add, with reference to "would the U.S. harm its own people" that the U.S. government has been torturing individuals for decades with something I call Active Physical Surveillance (APS), which combines psychological harassment and active surveillance techniques with actual physical torture via microwaves (Microwave Mediated Brain Torture, MMBT). Such a torture regimen is meant to simulate "mental illness" in its victims in order to bring about a totalitarian police state. Beware of propaganda about "mind control", and "experimentation." As an activist and researcher into this phenomenon for ten years now, I believe that this situation is real and should not be ignored (see www.datafilter.com/mc for a partly accurate though flawed presentation of some of the facts) I feel that this is an operational 1984 style, politically correct torture system used against Americans of European descent which has- like the Kennedy assassinations and other deeply serious realpolitic events in our history- been completely ignored by leftwing politicos. Well, all I can say is ignore at your own risk.

Yeah I am tired of all the lies. I am aware of this history of evil from our leaders. Many of my peers died in Vietnam for what? To be honest I don't trust you either but whoever you are, you should know that there are people out here who know something needs to be done. Like Patrick Henry,"Give me Liberty or give me death". Bush and Ashcroft's calls to the American people to surrender their liberties "temporarily" in their "never-ending war on terror" are appeals to the gullibility and fear clouded minds of citizens who look to any authority figures they can latch onto in the wake of a tragedy. They assert that their intentions are to protect our freedoms and this country, yet they state that these very freedoms are an impediment to their efforts to protect our freedoms from terrorism. Hence, their insistence on persuading us to relinquish our rights to the government for "our own good". George Orwell couldn't have done a better job of fabricating such double-speak than these two characters.
What Bush and Ashcroft are asking the people to do is like fireman asking every homeowner in a city to purposely set their homes on fire and let them burn to the ground because in their words it is "To help us protect your homes from arsonists out there."
If we willingly sell off our freedoms to the government to purchase so-called "security", we may find it wll be impossible to get a refund if we decide it was a bad deal. And if we complain to the Bush administration, they'll just sneeringly refer us to their nazi Gestapo reincarnated as the FBI/Homeland Security Agency complaint department. What a deal eh?

As an "old fashioned" English socialist I am greatly heartened to see that not everyone in the US is completely brainwashed. In this country we are very familiar with "dirty tricks" conducted as part of "Wars on Terrorism" (That is why Tom Constantine former head of the NYPD is currently helping to supervise the setting up of the new Northern Ireland Police service). Recent revelations in a BBC Panorama programme and investigations by English police officers have shown long standing links between loyalist terrorists in Ireland and the British Army. Both George Bush and Vladimir Putin apppear to me as gangsters quite prepared to murder their own people as acts of war mongering provocation. A former Rusian secret police agent Mr Litvinenko is currently in Britain (he was convicted of treason in absentia in Moscow this week) - he claims that Putin planted the bombs in Moscow which were the excuse for the Russian assault on Chechnya. We live in very dangerous times.

The liquidation of the USA, for that matter the world, has been going on for a long time. The 33rd President was Harry S Truman, a 33rd degree Freemason, who also just happened to drop 3 bombs on the 33rd parallel, Trinity Site, Las Cruces, NM, Nagasaki and Hiroshima. How coincidental! He also established the United Nations in 1945 and 3 years later helped establish Israel in 1948. The big builder thus completed the Israeli-Anglo Freemasonic Empire and here we sit today in a Hagelian Dialectic of immense proportion. Oh and by the way JFK was also sacrificed on the 33rd parallel at Dealey Plaza, first masonic site in Dallas, TX, at the triple underpass. George Bush is simply taking his orders from on high. The masters in high places have created a cesspool of a world that needs an enema bad and I mean bad. Please flush the toilet.

These guys are part of a small, "establishment-mafia". They are ingrained into the respected buisiness/political establishment.

Knowledge of what is really going on will become even more widespread, and another terror attack will be needed because the current "created distractions" are not going to work.

Everyone will know what is really going down, causing some to SNAP, and do something stupid against the govt. The govt will then use these incidents (some fabricated by govt) to institute complete martial law - but it will be too late. Many will then become anti-govt sympathisers even within the authorities security forces. The cat will already be far from the bag.

Then the rubber will meet the road.

Another thing - This super-surveillance system stuff which govt is touting is mostly smoke. They dont have the sympathy of the people - nor the brainpower to pull it off. And that sympathy is evaporating by the hour.

Portland, Oregon seems the most likely city the far right establishment will hit to gain further power. It will be somewhere liberal that's for sure. Not San Francisco, too much computer industry.
