Re: FYI: PWW Defends Rev. Wright vs the Right

Thanks for the promo, 'Hmmm.'

Like the site says, Obama's the best option vs McCain.

And it's hardly my baby; I'm just the trusty webmaster. It was launched by Hayden, Ehrehreich, Fletcher and Glover. With 50-100 new signers in the first 12 hours, not bad.

More important is what goes on on the ground, naturally.

No Greens on the ballot where I am, at least so far, so that's a moot point. So yes, if Hillary gets the nod, a vote for her vs McCain, too, if only to slow down the drift to new wars.

IL is a safe state with the Greens, but if you were here, you'd probably do the same--or at least you should.

Nothing new here, though. I put out this position weeks ago, right here on CIMC, so you heard it here first.

Also, there's not much in the way of 'liberal netroots' around here, either. Mainly a wave of working-class kids, white and Black hip-hoppers, who don Obama buttons as an act of defiance against older blue collar types who think Rev Wright's and thus Obama's racism against whites is the only racism in town, so are ready to bolt to McCain. Hillary's caught in the crossfire.

It's not perfect, but this world is a refreshing and welcome relief from the fevered salons of the Chicago left bloc, believe me.

Carry on, comrades...

"the fevered salons of the Chicago left bloc"

Jeez, Carl, I've been attending the wrong parties! The only "salon" I know of is Marilyn Katz's place in Lincoln Park, hardly a stomping ground of Chicago's "left bloc."

Cheap diners are more our speed...

Re: Re: FYI: PWW Defends Rev. Wright vs the Right

Good point, touche. I should have said fevered 'cyber-salons' and real world cranky dives and chattering cafes. Sometimes, when I'm at the bowling alley here in Aliquippa, I even wax nostalgic for a few moments for the old joints, until the cheers go up for someone who gets a strike.
