Democrats are much better off switching "sides" for this one and getting behind Ron Paul. Go to YouTube and type in Ron Paul and then watch one or more of the countless videos that are up from various TV and radio spots as well as member videos from rallies and other venues. Some really fresh stuff. I haven't voted since Nader in 2000 but if I decide to vote this time around it will be for Ron Paul. Momentmum is growing and he does have a legitimate chance, however small it might be, of winning the primary at which point he will be pitted against a Democrat with less than principled positions. At least getting Ron Paul into office will move us in the general direction of democracy. After that it's up to the people to continue to struggle and advocate for what we want. And if Ron Paul gets elected and doesn't make good on his campaign promises then it will simply be another nail in the coffin of the capitalist system.
