Why are the student protestors being expelled for cutting class? I am certain that this is not the way class cutting is usually handled at the school. At most high schools, a student is
marked "truant" if the absence is unexcused. The student is then required to attend after-school detention for each truancy. If all students who cut class were expelled, the school would obviously have many students expelled every day. It sounds like the school principal changed the class cutting policy due to his own personal bias.
