Re: Dozens of Berwyn High School Students Face Expulsion After Antiwar Sit-In

Institutions of education are supposed to be forums of free exchange, engagement and civic activity. If high school were anything approaching that ideal, protests would be encouraged, on and off campus. The assertion that they were somehow disrupting classes is completely nonsensical - they were in the cafeteria!

Let's be crystal fucking clear about the reason for the heavy-handedness of the administration - these career-oriented authoritarian politicians that get put in charge of these mind-crushing factories of complacency don't like having their rule challenged. That is the bottom line. Anyone who's done organizing inside those prison walls will tell you the same.

All power to these students - I hope Chicago comes out in full support and nails the creeps in charge to the wall.
