The kids stood up for what they believed in a non-violent way. The right to protest is a basic right. To keep the school running, I understand consequences are imperative, however expulsion is overboard and sends a message to submit and shut-up. Good Luck to the parents and students!
That is an excellent point. I think we all understand that civil disobedience comes with a certain set of consequences. Afterall, the term does use the term "disobedience" meaning that to take part in the action is to break a certain established rule. Yet, this is an instance of excessive disciplinary action. If it was just detentions, hardly anyone would be complaining....
