carl, stop using race ("South Side mass organizations", "immigrant rights rally") in your arguments, it makes you sound like daley on the big box ordinance or the children's museum. Black activists are not monolithic. Latino activists are not monolithic. we don't speak in one voice anymore than the white anti-war activists do (and it is apparent by this thread and countless other examples that there is no homogeneity amongst you all).

and we are also not a rhetorical device for your arguments. it demeans us both when you simplistically, manipulatively, and patronizingly use us as such.
