Thanks for the invite, Joel. But I've already been arrested twice for protests at my congressman's office and number among the 800 Chicagoans arrested on Michigan Ave. at the start of the war. And probably will be again. IMHO, we need to practice what we preach - and if we demand that our elected officials be held accountable for what they do - like voting for war funding - and not just for what they say, then we need to keep faith with that committment. Ironically, I also remember when the good folks at the Occupation Project led the charge to insist that any politicians invited to speak at last year's March 20 annivesary march sign a written pledge to support an immediate end to the war by defunding it. So uncritically supporting an event that would give a podium to the same politicians who continue to betray the trust of their antiwar constituents by continuing to fund end the war right now is a bit beyond my hypocrisy threshold.
