In addition to Rachel Herbener's reasons given above, Durbin only yesterday voted for even more war spending in Iraq, his pious words against Bush's war policies not withstanding. Also, along with Richard Daley, Durbin is a major backer to militarization of Chicago public schools. Specifically, Durbin secured $3 million funding for the naval academy currently encounced within Senn High School.
