Once a person has entered the country illegaly, there is no way they can ever be legal except maybe through marrage, and thats not a sure thing. Also keep in mind that while crossing the boarder is a crime, staying here is not. The argument used by the right that an "illegal immigrant" breaks the law every day just by being here is false. That being said, Mrs. Arrellano was clearly here illegaly. My question to you is whats so great about living under (an ever expanding) rule of law? Are we as a society serious about this experiment known as freedom? Or are we ready to call it quits, and slide even further toward authoritarianism?
As to your second question, Illegal immigrants are not good for this or any country. That is why immigration to this country should be de-criminalized. The fact is statist allways need a scapegoat. They may be women, or ethnic groups, or religon, or for our purpose here, immigrants. Both legal and illegal immigrants are being scapegoated here (see official language laws). So again, are we free or are we not? If the freedom of one group of people can be sacrificed for convenence, and safty, then the freedom of all people is in jepordy. To hell with borders, social security numbers, deportations, and state control of our lives! LIBERTY OR DEATH!
