It means voters many cities and towns around Illinois will have an opportunity to vote against the war in Iraq.
In most cases, as in Wisconsin recently, a good majority votes against the war.
It makes the news everywhere, further isolates the War Party and its defenders, encourages those who haven't broken with Bush and the war yet to do so, and causes Karl Rove to have an upset stomach.
It means the struggle to end the war takes a step forward, and plans to launch new wars a step backward.
Not bad, for starters, I'd say.
It won't end the war by itself, but then nothing does singularly. It just all adds up.
Now lend a hand, and let's do some more.
And kudos to the Greens, the Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice folks, and all others who helped pull this off.
