Beautiful Zaide, I agree entirely about the lack of diversity as I was the only white girl for miles when I looked around and asked, "where are the rest of us?". You are also correct in that it was not useful for the author of this blog to make such statements about white/black people even if they are true observations. It only isolates us more and teaches us to fear the other. Indeed there is no need for assimilation in this country as diversity is why we exist but we should all unite to fight for what's right without having to wait for it to affect us directly before ever becoming active.
