Re: TeenScreen Calls Physical Illness a Mental Disorder

Great article...hear, hear! and thank you so much, Kenneth!

That "doctors" who ought to know and use what works do not check for physical causes underlying mental phenomena is a very ugly fact. It should be cause for loss of not only our money and our trust but their licenses.

I bet that most of us know, don't we? that physical illness can and does by itself cause mental instability. We get edgy when we're exhausted. The answer is to sleep. And a quart of water with juice of a freshly squeezed lemon can do wonders. How many arguments, tears or nightmares follow downing a lot of refined sugar? Most of our serious physical troubles and these earlier, less dire ones can be fixed usually very cheaply and easily with changes in diet and other lifestyle routines.

When we agree to put our kids on psych drugs, we throw in with the deal our kids' vitality, imagination, responsibility, cheerfulness, persistence toward higher goals and self-certainty. We ruin their lives unless we can disattach them from the grip of the drugs and nourish them spiritually and physically back to health.

But then, if we use and teach our children workable, self-help health methods, if we encourage their creative, ethical imaginations and give them the tools, that is, if we do our jobs building them up physically, mentally and spiritually, how can drug companies make their killing? And how can we become contented slaves?

We need to get busy reverting this insane situation. Yes, that's what insane, not our kids or us.
