My question about why there were no subsidies applied for was not answered. The answer is obvious. Because with Federal subsidies, the project would probably have to be a not-for-profit deal and maybe all of the units would have to have been low-to-moderate income units--not exactly what Mr. Henry Cisneros or anyone else involved in this huge moneymaker had in mind. I am really disappointed that it wasn't designed from the beginning as a truly "affordable" housing project. We have Paul Roldan here in Chicago who has made a career of building low-income housing all over Chicago, except in Pilsen.
