I don't know if this is the same guy, but there was an Eddie Amanero who owned a Powerhouse Gym franchise in Chicago back in the '90s, and ripped off a bunch of people (including me)on their memberships, when he and his partners suddenly closed the place up and moved out all the equipment and furniture in the middle of the night, without any warning or explanation.
