On Churchill's protesting of the Columbus day parade: It's widely admitted by even mainstream scholars that Columbus was guilty of enslaving people, and committing mass murder, genocide. To say that the Italian community has a right to celebrate that monster is to say that the German community has a right to have a "Hitler day" parade. Sure people have freedom of speech, but as long as it doesn't step on other people's rights, and having parades celebrating mass murderers helps create a culture and society of intimidation that limits other people's freedoms.

As for the idea that not even liberals support him, some of the people most excited about this event that I've talked to have been far more moderate than my radical far-left anarcho-commie self. I told some Pacifists and a vietnam veteran who voted for Kerry that CHurchill was speaking, and they got very excited. Maybe liberal politicians don't support Churchill, but fuck them, their views on Churchill obviously don't represent the views of the people who voted for them.

And why is it that Native Americans are the only ethnic group in the United States that are required to prove their ancestory? I mean I might expect that of dog breeds, not for human beings. Has anyone asked Alan Dershowitz to prove his Jewish ancestory? What about Bush? What European country did his blood come from?
