This was the same argument some people had in defense of slavery. What would black people do, where would they go if they were freed?

Answer: Freedom is sweeter then slavery. Even if you live shorter that way.

Maybe we should be trying to abolish the fur trade, as opposed to making excuses for "mom and pop" farms, animals being stripped of their instincts, and our highway culture.
