Re: DePaul Students for Justice in Palestine under attack.

what a joke, 99% of professors of pol sci or middle east studies teach arab revisionist history. who cares that some wacko argued with you. go to any pol sci class about middle east, imagine what people in the class are feeling who have a clue about middle east history. imagine knowing that if you don't repeat what professor ahmeed told you in class on your tests you would fail the class...
also i find this part hilarious, "..."The word Palestine only came into the press within the last twenty
years," this can be refuted if anyone was to look at an old map or
books discussing the region..."
the word palestine referring to a nationality came into existence within the last half century, into common use in the last 30 years. so did pretty much every other nation in the middle east. by looking at an old map all you get is that the western world called that part of the world palestine. if the romans after they took over israel had called it 'disney world' instead of palestina, western maps would have said 'disney world'. here is a picture of how the ottoman empire divided the area, they, the muslim empire for some reason failed to use the term, which makes sense because it was just a tiny part of its empire and not a separate country. www.mideastweb.org/turkpal.htm
the map of the land under the caliphs has the term filastin www.mideastweb.org/palcaliph1.htm but all the borders are meaninglessin the context of talking about nationalities, it was not a nation state, just one out of a hundred divisions of the empire.
if you want to prove your ancient nationality, tell me some of the original leaders of the palestinians, what was the name of its first currency, what countries did it conduct trade with, what was the palestinian language, etc.

last quick fact: the reason the romans called the hebrew state that it conquered pilista is because their historians wanted to erase any memory of the hebrew state by reneaming it after their old enemies the philistines that were defeated long before. what most people don't know is that the name 'philistines' was not one chosen by those that were called it. the hebrews gave them that name, in hebrew philisine - plishtim meant 'invader'. this is because the philistines were invaders from the sea of north mediteranian origin. so it is very interesting that palestinians call themselves 'invaders' and claim that its there land.
