The invasion and occupation of Iraq could have been less bloody if America went into battle with more troops.
1. There would have been more 'hand to hand' combat and not as many heavy bombing campaigns.
2. The Iraqi insurgents would have been less in numbers. It takes guts to attack a force that has more weapons and has more training among other things.
3. 400,000 troops instead of 130,000 troops could have controlled the flow into the country better. This would have kept foreign terrorists and Al Qaeda out of the country to a certain extent.
4. 400,000 troops would have protected building projects better. Electricity and water would have been restored faster and the terrorist groups would not have had some ample recruiting efforts.
The resistence to our troops would have been less and therefore, there would have been less confrontations between Arabs and American troops. Less confrontations means less death.
If anything Obama said that the U.S. military should have done more to help Iraq build up their country.
