Sit-in at Chicago Board of Education begins Today, the Chicago Board of Education votes on whether or not to close up to 54 Chicago public schools. A sit-in at the Board of Education is underway. UPDATE: Occupy Chicago is reporting that "[n]o one is being allowed into the board of ed after a sit in shut it down". UPDATE 2: Resistance at the hearing continues. "It was reported at around 2pm that parents and students who were inside the board meeting were being pushed out. A vigil has been scheduled at CPS HQ, 125 S. Clark, for 4:30pm this afternoon." |
