Someone explain to me what right she has to be in this country? The laws clearly state that there are legal venues an undocumented person must go through to stay here. Otherwise, they are breaking this country's laws. So what makes this particular woman not illegal?
Second question, why are illegal immigrants good for America? People who are pro-illegals never seem to explain this. The only message I ever hear is that illegal aliens should be supported because the country is "racist" for enforcing its laws (which is a ridiculous assumption on their part, seems to me the pro-illegal alien groups just want to pick and choose the laws)

Once a person has entered the country illegaly, there is no way they can ever be legal except maybe through marrage, and thats not a sure thing. As to your second question, Illegal immigrants are not good for this or any country. That is why immigration to this country should be de-criminalized. The fact is statist allways need a scapegoat. They may be women, or ethnic groups, or religon, or for our purpose here, immigrants. Both legal and illegal immigrants are being scapegoated here (see official language laws). So again, are we free or are we not? If the freedom of one group of people can be sacrificed for convenence, and safty, then the freedom of all people is in jepordy. I am not a racist or a "lou dobbs" freak, my point is that immigration needs to be done in a systematic, controlled way. We can't allow people to just walk in as they please. It's harmful to our economy, to the average American worker and truly is a security threat. This type of immigration does not help America because the people who come are only looking to fill their pockets, not take part in the American dream (if you can stand my idealism)
I'm also offended by this idea some illegals have that they are "owed" something or have a "right" to be here. They don't.
If American big business/globalization have economically harmed people who are already impoverished, I can't help but think that coming to America will only perpetuate the problems. America does not have a gift-bag waiting for these people and America's citizens are becoming more and more impatient with these people. Further, if farming is no longer paying off, are there not other occupations or do you think these people are incapable of doing anything else? Nothing has been done to stop the root of the problem, which is why are they so poor in the first place? I'm not a big fan of immigration to the US being used as a band-aid for a larger problem. If anything, the evidence of the problem, the people, these peasants that you speak of, have been diffused across a large continent. How can you address the problem when the human face of it has disappeared? How about these people fix their problems, to include the corrupt government of Mexico which agrees to these deals, instead of running away from them.

I feel sorry for Elvira's son who has suffered and will suffer from his mother's poor choices in life: coming here illegally and being deported, coming back here again illegally and working illegally with someone's SSN illegally, and by not showing up to the INS for deportation as the court ruled.
