The Coalition of Immokalee Workers, the Florida-based labor rights organization working to raise the wages of poor migrant workers, is mobilizing support for a major April convergence in Chicago.
The Coalition's focus, as it has been for thepast year, is McDonald's — the world's top fast food franchise and beneficiary of tomatoes picked by Immokalee workers. And Chicago, home to the headquarters of McDonald's, has been the locale of numerous Immokalee-led actions.
