Thousands of Palestinians languish in Israeli prisons – including at least 1,800 arrested since Israel began it’s invasion in late March. These prisoners endure under harsh conditions that include routine torture. Almost all are incarcerated for their political views or their resistance to the brutal Israeli occupation. Each year the Palestinian people and their supporters honor these prisoners of conscience – and work to free those whose most significant crime is an unbridled commitment to the freedom and dignity of their people. Prisoners’ Day 2002 is April 17. Join us.

Proceeds collected at this benefit will be used to support the Chicago Coalition Against War & Racism’s efforts to mobilize for the protests in Washington DC from April 20-22, and to support the work of the convening organizations.

Convened by the Committee for a Democratic Palestine, the Palestinian American Council, and the Free Palestine Alliance/Chicago. Please make checks payable to the 8th Day Center for Justice. For more information or to endorse, call 773-531-8667.
