This is from the "Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies" webpage. Now that they have decided that this inaguauction is a "National Security Event," here is some of what to expect as far as restrictions of movement etc.

No Parking on U.S. Capitol Grounds. Those persons wishing to drive into the District should park at RFK Stadium and take the Metro subway from them Stadium-Armory station to Metro subway stations in the vicinity of the U.S. Capitol Grounds.

Metro subway stations in the vicinity of the U.S. Capitol include Union Station, Capitol South, Federal Center, Smithsonian, and Judiciary Square.

Plan to arrive early! Gates open at 9:00 A.M.

U.S. Capitol Building will be closed to the public.

U.S. Capitol Police will close all streets within a two (2) block radius of the Capitol at 6:00 A.M.

Capitol: There will be four (4) public access points into the U.S. Capitol Grounds for ticket holders. Those holding green tickets must enter at New Jersey and Constitution Avenues, NW. Gray ticket holders must enter at First Street and Constitution Avenue, NW. Those holding tan tickets must enter at Independence Avenue in front of the Rayburn House Office Building while those holding blue tickets must enter at First Street and Independence Avenue, SW.

Mall: Ticket holders with gold tickets must use access points into the ticketed areas located at Third Street and Independence Avenue, SW. or Third Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. They may also enter at Madison Drive and Fourth Street or Jefferson Drive and Fourth Street on the Mall.

All accessible entrances are noted on the map. For additional informa-tion regarding accessibility, please call the Congressional Special Services Office (CSSO) recorded information line at 202–228–2137 (voice) or 202–228–2136 (TTY). You may also contact CSSO directly at 202–224–4048 (voice) or 202–244–4049 (TTY). Ticket holders will be required to pass through security screening and have their
handbags examined. The following items are prohibited in the secured areas of the U.S. Capitol Grounds: packages, coolers, thermos bottles, mace, pepper spray, weapons, signs or posters.

The public will be allowed to line the street to view the Parade west of New Jersey and Constitution Avenues, NW. The crowds will be required to stay behind the police lines along the curb.

Please be advised to dress appropriately for the weather.
Please be advised that you must leave ticketed area as soon as the event is over.
Signs will be posted directing you to Metro subway stations, as well as to the Parade area.
