INCITE! is a national activist organization of radical feminists of color advancing a movement to end violence against women of color and their communities through direct action, critical dialogue and grassroots organizing.

INCITE! was formed at the Color of Violence: Violence Against Women of Color conference held in Santa Cruz, California in April 2000. Over one thousand people gathered at this conference to discuss and strategize about the connections among sexual/domestic violence, racism and colonialism in the lives of women of color.

Color of Violence II builds on INCITE's work to advance a movement to end violence against women of color in all its forms. This work is needed now more than ever. As the U.S. fights a racist war against the Middle East while simultaneously increasing its repression of communities of color and promoting racial profiling at home, it is critical that we build a movement that ends both sexual/domestic violence AND state-sponsored violence.
