City sabotage with renters rights - even with Obama's offer of help

If one apartment has to get the city to answer then more questions will be asked. with annual inspections, tenants calling 311, tenant group and tenant attorney intervention, why did the city not respond? why did the city not collect money from violations and show tenants the respect that the codes and ordinances state?
Hello. I am trying to get something done about the
lack of tenant consumer protection. Senator Obama's office offered to help
before Christmas. I live in corrupt Chicago and nothing has changed. When a
city wants to close an apartment, the city decides to find violations. The
same property that got ignored or had the owner paying off inspectors for the
annual inspections or not responding to tenant city calls, is found to have
city problems when the lot has plans to be turned into a store, bank, condo,
or single family home. No replacement housing is being built and anything
gets
passed off to rent. Being told to move is not helpful. Move where and into
what? A barrio wants no renter complaints yet if the city would respond,
maybe
renters would be welcome. And this being corrupt as hell Chicago means that a
judge can evict a tenant without being shown any proof from the slum landlord
and the city that the unit and building are up to code. And all tenant
landlord damage cases are not heard by city employees and held outside city
department court rooms. Who supplies the place to rent? The landlord. Who
monitors what is being rented and the codes and the ordinances? The city. Did
you know that Chicago has ordinance tort protection. For example if you get
killed or hurt in your building where the only power to correct the problem
comes from the city, you can not sue the city. I told you that I live in
corrupt Chicago right? And if the city has busted your owner, if you call the
city during the case, the city refuses to respond. The city claims that no
city responses are allowed when a case is pending. I have always said that
tenants still calling the city prove that the problems exist. Using a tenant
group and tenant attorney will not change your situation and the same
situation will be left for the next tenant. The city can change things but
some incentive action that can not be questioned is not allowing changes.
Like money does not talk.

below is an email to the unresponsive and I wonder just how effective FBI.
Years ago when reporting another apartment that magically had its city case
against it dismissed, the FBI said it was not corruption- it was negligence.
Yeah, and when the city is negligent and not collecting $$$ from fines and
sparing the owner from expenses and maybe being put of business, all happens
for free. So if changes are made, those collecting chump bribe change from
letting the violation continue, would lose their funding. The IRS will not
audit anything in Chicago because ...... because...... because..... ordinance
violations about buildings and noise complaints are not IRS matters. Folks
report bribes to the IRS. And according to the rude IRS investigator who
called me a few times, they found nothing wrong in the alderman - tenant
contact for the city when the city is not helping and somehow with a paid
employee and a budget a non city employee nor elected by the public community
group with say in barrio development. And the city land use & litigation
attorney who contacted me, Dan Asnis, was given the same information that I
sent Senator Obama's office and visited my apartment and since , has not been
in touch. The land use & litigation department is the only city power that
changes housing.

Trying to build attention to my cause. It needs some addressing. Thanks.
