Public Forum: ENRON--What's Wrong with Capitalism

7pm Thursday, March 7 Loyola Park Fieldhouse (corner of Greenleaf and Sheridan in Rogers Park)

THE ENRON fiasco exposed just how corrupt the day to day workings of the capitalist system can be. And Enron isn't the exception, but the rule. Other companies cook the books and reap profits while their workers get stiffed. And they do it hand over fist with their pals in Washington, D.C.--people like VP Dick Cheney, who let Enron execs write energy policy in exchange for big campaign contributions. Come to this forum on what the Enron scandal says about what's wrong with capitalism, and how we can build a fight against this unjust system.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR for the Midwest Regional Socialist Conference, "A World of Poverty & War: Socialism is the alternative," and the International Socialist Review Antiwar Tour on April 6. The Conference includes workshops on everything from the fight for Palestine and the revolt in Argentina to the racist criminal injustice system and the future of the global justice movement. Tickets for the Midwest Regional Socialist Conference will be available at the Thursday night meeting or you call 312-458-9920 for more information. And visit www.isreview.org for more information about the Antiwar Tour.

Howard Zinn and David Barsamian commented on why you should take part in the tour:

**Voices of opposition to Washington's war drive are more important than ever. The Bush administration is asking for $48 billion in additional funding for the Pentagon on top of billions more in spending on the war in Afghanistan. Top U.S. officials have made it clear that they want to expand the war on terrorism into other countries for years to come. Meanwhile, we see severe restrictions on civil liberties taking place at home and cuts in essential social programs in the face of a recession and a $1.35 trillion tax cut that largely benefits the rich. The ISR antiwar speaking tour is bringing together voices of opposition and hope for a better future around the country this spring. We encourage you to participate in these urgent discussions.**
