Hungry For A Month

For the month of November, I only spent $30 on food. The only exception were things that are freely available to the average person (salt taken from restaurants, sauce packets from Taco Bell, free coffee from an office). Buying in advance was fine, but at the end of the month, it all had to add up to $30 or less.
This episode is work safe.

Interview with Evan Steiner from the Hungry For A Month blog.

We discuss why he decided to see if he could spend a dollar a day on food for a month; how he decided that $30 was how much he would spend on food for a month; what you can eat for a dollar a day; what food he fantasized about eating the most after the experiment was over; dealing wioth Thanksgiving and lunch with co-workers during the experiment; how he explained his experiment for a month and their reactions; comments on his Hungry For A Month blog that surprised him; how much money did he save on food and how much did he donate to the Greater Lansing Food Bank; the pain he experienced during November; why at one point he started to dread eating food; eating healthy and inexpensively; what he wouldhave done differently during the experiment with the knowledge he has gained; how much weight he lost during November and how much weight he has put back on; how the experiment changed how he eats; what he learned from his experiment; taking Hungry For A Month to the next level; his desire to try new things.

Featured song is "Hungry Ghost" by Ben Godwin.
