Repost: JULY 12-13 Defend the right to choose! Stop the PLAL!

Protest the "Pro-Life" Action League. Defend a woman's right to choose abortion!
**Please forward widely**

STOP THE "PRO-LIFE" ACTION LEAGUE!

The PLAL is an extremist anti-choice group that is determined to see abortion rights repealed in the U.S.

Their founder, Joseph Scheidler, has a history of participating in violent anti-choice protests at clinics. The PLAL calls abortion “infanticide”, favors banning all contraception entirely, and calls homosexuality a “sickness” and a ”perversion.”

On Wednesday, July 12 and Thursday, July 13, the PLAL will be bringing their “Truth Tour” (giant, doctored pictures of supposedly aborted fetuses) to downtown Chicago.

COME SHOW THE PLAL THAT CHICAGO SUPPORTS WOMEN’S RIGHTS! Don’t let their hate go unopposed.

Bring large signs, banners and placards to help cover their signs. Bring bullhorns and voices to drown out their right-wing hate.

The itinerary is listed below. COUNTER-PROTESTERS SHOULD SHOW UP 20-30 MIN. BEFORE THE PLAL’S START TIME IN ORDER TO PRE-EMPT THEIR PROTEST!

Right-wing hate from PLAL director Joe Schiedler:

“There can be no such thing as gay marriage or even gay rights. While we have compassion for anyone suffering from a sickness like homosexuality, we aren't about to accept this illness as constituting a legitimate minority worthy of special rights and privileges and capable of real marriage”

"I think contraception is disgusting--people using each other for pleasure…[and] for those who say I can’t impose my morality on others, I say just watch me."

"Several years ago we tracked down a twelve year-old girl who was going to have an abortion so that we could talk her out of it. Talking a woman out of having an abortion is not news. But tracking her down by using private detectives is."

In 1985, in the midst of a rash of clinic arsons and bombings, Scheidler proclaimed "a year of pain and fear" for anyone seeking or providing an abortion.

The PLAL is also planning several other “actions” on the south side. suburbs, and other locations around Chicago…Please come out and protest them wherever you can!
