Midwest Social Forum Updates: March/Rally, Concert lineup, Tracks, more...

Only 11 days until the Midwest Social Forum in at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
MARCH & RALLY for SOCIAL JUSTICE IN THE STREETS & IN THE COURTS
  • Sunday, July 9, 2:00 – 4:00pm, Sherman Park (Sherman & Burleigh), Milwaukee, WI
  • On Sunday, July 9th, the MIDWEST SOCIAL FORUM will culminate with a rally and march for “SOCIAL JUSTICE IN THE STREETS & IN THE COURTS.” Grassroots efforts to address police brutality in Milwaukee have a deep resonance for community activists from around the region, as do all efforts to reform the overall justice system. Not only in Milwaukee, but throughout the Midwest and the rest of the country, police brutality and injustice in the court systems toward people of color is being challenged by community and social justice organizations.
TRACKS
Some of the sessions have been organized into "tracks" to help build their networks and communities over the course of the weekend:
  • Anti-Racism
  • Democracy
  • Health Care
  • Immigrant Rights
  • Media
  • Reproductive Rights
Each track contains sessions, workshops, films and plenaries that can each "stand alone," but the tracks have been designed as coherent, chronological series so that participants will leave the forum equipped to organize around each issue.
See all the tracks at: www.mwsocialforum.org/ schedulebytrack. The whole program can be found here: www.mwsocialforum.org/schedule

These members of Young Chicago Authors, Youth Speaks Wisconsin, and the Minnesota Spoken Word Association will also be letting their lyrics loose at concerts each night in the Wisconsin Room. Don't miss them.
